THE OPPORTUNITY
Teaching and Learning Youth Coach aims to deliver effective, impactful support to youth students that enables our students to thrive on their learning and early-career journey.
The Coach will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and conducting learning and assessment services to a small group of youth learners, with a focus on Digital & Technology skills.
The coach will have knowledge in IT/Digital, working closely with apprenticeship coaches to develop youth learners in our key expertise areas.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Develop, implement, and conduct learning and assessment services to group youth learners and aligned with youth program objectives and outcomes.
- Plan, organise, and deliver learning events that reinforce and enhance the learning experience of youth learners, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes skill development and community.
- Maintain close communication and collaboration with apprenticeship coaches to utilise insights gained through tutoring sessions to improve the overall learning experience.
- Accurately document learner records and report the success metrics tutoring sessions and 1-2-1 interactions into the relevant tracking documents.
- Utilise feedback received from participants to evaluate and assess tutoring sessions, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of future sessions.
- Monitor youth learners’ progress, ensuring learners timely achievement of their qualifications.
- Be responsible for continuously developing learning materials and resources to support delivery needs.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience with youth learners, preferably with a technical/vocational training focus.
- Excellent communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of creative/digital/IT skills related to the youth programmes offered.
- Passionate about coaching transforming young people’s career journey.
- Experience in teaching/coaching/mentoring.
- Highly creative with a can-do attitude.
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- You hold A1 / TAQA 3 (or equivalent) or prepared to work towards the qualification Teaching qualification.
- City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 in supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills
- Counselling and Support Work experience.
