Crawley Hospital is offering a Switchboard Operator position. The role requires previous experience in switchboard operations, as well as outstanding communication, teamwork, and IT skills. Opportunities to take on additional shifts are also available.

Main Duties
Operate the telephone console (computer and screen based switchboard) to ensure an excellent telecom service is maintained at all times.
Answer calls efficiently and politely connecting to the appropriate extension.
Use initiative to direct enquiries to the correct destination.
Provide an answering service to staff.
Deal with the emergency alarm panels as per policy and procedures.
Contact personnel (Facilities) and direct to required locations.
Carry out regular testing on radios.
Deal efficiently and politely with visitors to the department.
Follow procedures to contact on-call members of staff when required.
Book taxis for departments, with appropriate authorisation and maintain accurate records.
Book the Courier service for the Pathology Department and keep accurate records.
Log and report all telephone, switchboard and emergency panel faults to the relevant department.
