We are seeking a dedicated and detail oriented scrap picker to join our team. As a picker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient sorting and organising of items in our busy yard. This position requires someone with great organisation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Bending and picking up bits of scrap metal out of a huge pile
- Driving a forklift
-Stripping cable
- Doing various jobs in the metal shed
- Keeping yard clean and tidy
- Weighing in members of the public with metal
Experience:
- Prior experience working in a scrap yard
- Mechanical knowledge for operating machinery is a plus
- Ability to perform picking, safely whilst dealing with trade and public driving in and out the yard
- Experience operating forklifts safely is desirable
- Knowledge of metal grades needed
