City St George’s, University of London is the University of business, practice and the professions and brings together the expertise and excellence of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London into one institution.
The combined university is one of the largest suppliers of the health workforce in the capital, as well as one of the largest higher education destinations for London students.
Combining a breadth of disciplines across health, business, law, creativity, communications, science and technology, we are creating a ‘health powerhouse’ for students, researchers, the NHS and partners in uniting a world-leading specialist health university. We are now one of the UK’s largest health educators, where staff and students have access to an expanded team of brilliant academic and professional services colleagues, combined resources and facilities and more interdisciplinary opportunities.
The merger creates opportunities to generate significant change in the world of healthcare including changes to treatment, population health monitoring, workforce development and leadership, policy, and advocacy.

Background

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new Inspiring Students into Research Scheme (INSIGHT) at the School of Health and Psychological Sciences. This role will sit within the Health Services Research and Management department, but will work closely on a day to day basis with the programme director of the Master of Research (MRes) at City, University of London and other MSc programme directors at Queen Mary University of London. In year 4, this has been included at 0.2fte for the required co-ordination of the final part-time students of the scheme.

Responsibilities

This single administrative unit will be the point of contact for all student applications to the INSIGHT programme.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will need:
  • To provide high quality managerial oversight for the different programmes offered within the scheme
  • To work alongside colleagues in local Trusts and other health organisations to support research- and education-active clinicians, providing events, networks and processes that enable students to advance on academic career pathways.
  • To maintain excellent working relationships with the Programme leads, Directors of Research Centres and Postgraduate administration teams.
  • To represent the School and its programme internally to the departments and other Schools and externally with partner organisations including Health Education England, NHS Trusts and funders.

Additional Information

Closing date for applications: 3rd November 2024 at 11:59 pm.
