Production Operator

**No experience required as full training will be provided *
Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. Due to ongoing demand, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Glasgow as a Production Operator.
Production Operator Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce components in line with delivery requirements against agreed schedules & cost
  • Operate chemical plating lines as required
  • Monitor production tanks by analysis and make chemical additions as required.
  • Carry out X-ray testing for thickness of various coatings
  • Filling our Job cards with all relevant details of process carried out
  • Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas, adherence to 5s at all times
  • Report equipment faults to maintenance staff
  • Record & maintain work related data as required
  • Pack goods, with protective materials as required
  • Support team members as a part of team development and/or induction’
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Contributes to plans and forecasts within the work area
Production Operator Skills & Behaviours:
  • Ensure a flexible and collaborative attitude within the team
  • Work constructively and support your peer team and other departments as required
  • Act in an appropriate manner when dealing directly or indirectly with customers
  • Ensure respect for all team members
  • Proactive with good time management
  • Good problem-solving skills within span of control/team

  • Disciplined in maintaining schedules and documentation as required
Production Operator Qualifications & Experience:
  • Educated to standard grade level
  • Demonstrable examples of dexterity
  • Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components (desirable)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) process (desirable)
  • Must be health & safety conscious

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
Ability to commute/relocate:

Education:
  • GCSE or equivalent (required)

  • Driving Licence (required)
