Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
Summary of Role

We are seeking a highly motivated principal consultant to join the UK GHG and Net Zero team. This is a senior role in the team, focused on leading and coaching teams of consultants through critical projects and supporting business development efforts as we build new partnerships and expand existing long-term relationships.

It will involve collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts and with other Technical Consultants, not only to deliver great projects but also to develop new innovative ways of approaching sustainability.

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across areas including greenhouse gas inventories, science-based targets, decarbonisation roadmaps, climate transition plans, and much more. You will work with a large team of experts both in the UK and across our global practice.
We are seeking someone with a personal passion for sustainability, eager to learn, with a drive to have impact. You must be a self-starter with initiative who can flex across client sectors and services areas to deliver excellence and value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.
  • You will be developing and reviewing technical deliverables, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and rest of the business.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, where necessary, for development of opportunities and project delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines, commercial targets and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate and coach team members on delivery and client management excellence
  • Provide technical leadership on GHG and Net-Zero topics to junior team members on project delivery, and in support of other live projects
  • Write proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team and work with other consultants and experts across Anthesis to grow existing long-term relationships
  • Contribute to Anthesis’ innovation and thought leadership around corporate climate action

Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise
Key Requirements

Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in relevant sustainability work, ideally with previous consulting and client-facing experience
  • Previous background in GHG and Net Zero topics preferred
  • Experience in delighting clients, preferably within a corporate context while challenging them to deliver maximum sustainability impact.
  • Excellent project management / direction
  • Strong numeracy with comfortable, advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Development and proposal writing
  • Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today’s climate
  • Active and encouraging team player with strong leadership skills
