Personal assistant required for young person with disabilities and additional support needs. Duties will include personal care, practical support and social assistance. The personal assistant should have flexibility to cover various shift patterns, and weekend availability is required. Good time keeping and reliability are required. A car driver is essential as the personal assistant will have access to the employer’s car. Must have experience in manual handling, ie using hoist, pushing wheelchair. Experience of supporting people with complex needs and challenging behaviour is desirable. Hours - 16 per week – various shift patterns, mornings, evenings and night calls and weekends and overnights. Rate of pay - £13.50 per hour. The SDS Support Service exists to support people to employ their own Personal Assistants and/or purchase services using direct payments. As an organisation we are not the employer, but assist people to look for staff if they need them. If you are employed, your contract will be with the person in receipt of the direct payment and not with Dundee Carers Centre or the SDS Support Service.
