• Our Optical Assistants are the first point of contact within the practice and therefore good Customer Service skills are essential.
• Previous Optical experience is not essential as training will be given, however previous experience in Retail or Hospitality would be beneficial.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
• Good Computer skills are essential. We book all our appointments on our computer-based record system.
• As one of our Optical Assistants, you would help people to choose their new Eyewear and discuss lens options. (Training will be provided).
• Another key part of the role is performing pre-assessment tests including fundus photography, OCT and visual field screening before the patient sees the optometrist for their eye exam (Training will be provided.)
• Be able to use own initiative to complete daily tasks and to work as part of a team.
• An understanding of the importance of Data Protection and the essential role it plays in our workplace.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
