Job Summary
We are seeking an individual to perform a dual role. You will be required to work part time in the community, and manage our on call service two weekends per month and some evenings during the week. Some part time community care is essential to familiarise yourself with our service users. On call hours to be discussed. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they provide care for, as well as flexibility, initiative and good problem solving skills.
Duties- caregiver

• Provide care and support for individuals with varying needs.
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Assist with mobility when necessary to ensure client safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
• Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
• Engage clients in activities that promote mental and physical well-being.

Duties- on call
As a home care agency we provide an out of hours service for staff, service users and family members to contact in the event of an emergency. Your responsibilities would include-

• Provide an on call service two weekends per month and some weeknights
• Managing emergency situations including falls, contacting emergency services and liaising with family members.
• Covering staff sickness.

Skills

• Proven experience in care, childcare, senior care, or similar roles is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in following care plans.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
