Country Kids Day Nursery.
JOB DESCRIPTION.
TITLE: NURSERY ASSISTANT
LOCATION: Country Kids Day Nursery, 223 Killaughey Road,
Donaghadee, BT21 0LJ.
PURPOSE OF THE POST:
As a member of the nursery staff you will be responsible in assisting the Manager in the day to day running of the nursery. This will include: -

• Maintaining a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development for children placed in the Nursery

• To give support to other staff within the day nursery

• To implement the daily routine

Principal duties:
1. To be responsible for the supervision and care of all the children attending the
Nursery.
2. To maintain a secure, safe and happy environment for the children.
3. To understand, value and encourage stages of child development. To ensure that all children are treated and respected as individuals, and their individual needs are catered for.
4. To promote equal opportunities throughout the day in the Nursery.
5. To promote a happy atmosphere for children and to give support to parents and other family members.
6. To maintain confidentiality in respect to the children's records and regard to any discussion with staff relating to nursery issues.
7. To support staff and create a good team spirit.
8. To be responsible for the promotion and maintenance of a good public image of the day Nursery.
9. To ensure that Social Service Guidelines are adhered to and that all the Nursery
Policies are carried out.
10. To ensure that the Health and Safety Policy is paramount.
11. To give guidance and support to students.
12. To attend staff meetings outside working hours.
13. To ensure that all toys are kept clean and in working order.
14. To ensure a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene is being maintained within the Nursery.
15. To work along side the Manager and owners to ensure that the philosophy behind the Nursery is fulfilled.
16. To undertake any other duties as may be requested from time to time by the owners. This job description is not intended to be a complete list of duties but indicates the main ones attached to the post.
17. This job description is subject to review and amendment as the Day Nursery facilities develop and this will be done in consultation with the post holder.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temp to perm
Pay: From £11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
