Brooklands Museum Trust

Weybridge

PART TIME

Museum Assistant

Brooklands Museum is the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, and the home of Concorde. Located on the 30-acre site of the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit and the most productive aircraft factories in Europe in the twentieth century, Brooklands Museum welcomes around 185,000 visitors each year. These are made up of members of the public, Brooklands Members, VIPs, corporate hospitality guests and school groups.

As we are a visitor attraction, our priority is delivering a memorable and inspiring experience for all ensuring we meet our commitment of ‘Brooklands at its best, every day’. We want everyone coming to the Museum to have the very highest quality experience and for their time spent at the Museum to be memorable, enjoyable and inspiring. This is not only for our visitors, although they are an absolute priority, but also for our volunteers and staff. So, no matter what role you join us in, you will have a very important part to play in this.

We are currently looking for a Part Time Museum Assistant working 4 out of 7 days on a rota basis to join our Front of House team in readiness for our busy and exciting upcoming Christmas period and the 2025 season!

As part of the Front of House Team, you will report to our Admissions & Retail Manager and play your part to ensure that the Museum consistently provides a high-quality experience to all.

Our Museum Assistants work flexibly across the Museum and can support a wide range of activities. Although much of your day will be spent on front of house activities within our Admissions area, you may also have the opportunity to help with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks.

You are the face of the museum for our visitors and will be the first and maybe the last team of people our visitors will see! Your interactions with our visitors can really make someone’s visit special. With knowledge and enthusiasm, you will help visitors to find their way around our collections, share stories and facts about the Museum to help every visitor understand ‘it happened here at Brooklands’ and help us deliver ’an incredible day out’ every day.

How to apply

Please apply via our recruitment website where you will find the full job description and further information about working at Brooklands Museum. You will be asked to submit your CV and a covering letter detailing how your experience could help us in this role and how you meet the requirements of our person specification. Please keep your covering letter to no more than two sides of A4.

The hiring manager will review all applications as they come in and we will be in touch with successful candidates to arrange an interview after the closing date of the 27th September 2024 with interviews being held during the week of the 7th October.

Please note: if we receive a high volume of quality applicants, we may close this vacancy earlier so please don't wait to apply!

Benefits

We offer a number of benefits to suit your lifestyle and include:

  • Annual leave of 25 days in addition to Bank Holidays and Christmas Eve off
  • Flexible Bank Holiday policy enabling you to take Bank Holidays at a time that suits you
  • Flexible working to help you manage your home and working life
