Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Location: Stoney Stanton, Leicester
Salary: £26,500 - £28,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the Stoney Stanton site. If you have hands-on experience in building work, carpentry, painting and decorating, or an engineering background, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance department to ensure the smooth operation of the plant. Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring a safety-first approach in all activities to drive towards an incident-free workplace.
Completing low-technical maintenance tasks such as pipework painting, fixtures, fittings, and cleaning conveyor trays.
Maintaining a clean and tidy site, including site perimeter, grassy areas, and security fencing.
Performing site tasks such as scaffolding erection, firewatching for hot work, and accompanying contractors or visitors.
Supporting general labouring duties and dealing with issues as they arise.
Contributing to continuous improvement efforts across site operations.
Assisting with site equipment tagging and site bin management.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience and/or qualifications in building work, carpentry, painting, and decorating.
Engineering background preferred but not essential.
Practical experience on industrial sites, preferably high hazardous/COMAH environments.
IPAF, PASMA, and Firewatcher trained (desirable but not essential).
Strong organisational skills and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Excellent communication skills with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as required.
