Legacy/Grants Officer part-time

Job Summary
To maximise income secured by St Kentigern Hospice through Legacy and Grant programmes.

This role is focused on inspiring audiences to provide vital funding to St Kentigern via gifts in wills, major gifts and grants. The role requires the post holder to build strong relationships with all supporters including legacy prospects and pledgers, potential major donors and charitable trusts/grant bodies by providing best practice support care, communication and administrative processes.
This role is 22.5 hours per week primarily based at St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph. The post holder will be required to attend training, meetings and events as and when required.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for writing, with knowledge of what can influence trusts to donate. Excellent written communication skills, accuracy and an eye for details are of vital importance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify trusts and foundations whose funding criteria resonates with the work of St Kentigern Hospice
· Write applications producing inspiring, accurate and professional proposals in line with trust guidelines.
· Work with the Fundraising team to ensure supporter data concerning stewardship, donations, legacy pledges and other fundraising information is kept up to date on the CRM system.
· Work with operational colleagues to collate the information required to support funded projects and programmes.
· Work with the Fundraising Manager and the Marketing team to develop and implement St Kentigern legacy marketing programme, primarily targeting, pledger numbers, loyalty and increasing the legacy income.
· Design, develop and ensure the implementation of agreed fundraising procedures and protocols.
· Be aware of and act on opportunities to engage and inspire St Kentigern Hospice major and mid-level donors.
· Use creative and engaging methods of communication including written and verbal mechanisms positively impacting the income.
· Promote and develop activities to maximise “in memoriam “income.
OTHER DUTIES
· Provide direction for fundraising volunteers including training.
· Abide by organisational policies and procedures.
· Support and contribute to other St Kentigern activities to deliver the aims of the strategic plan.
PERSON SPECIFCATION/SKILLS
The post holder will be expected to have the relevant experience in the following areas:
· Experience in a charity fundraising capacity or similar transferable experience.
· Knowledge of legacy and in-memoriam fundraising programmes.
· Proven experience in copywriting, proof reading and editing.
SKILLS
· Excellent networking skills, ability to influence at all levels.
· Computer skills, able to accurately analyse data using CRM,
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proven track record of delivery of results.
The post holder must hold a valid driving licence.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £15,748.00 per year
