Ward 15 is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team. Ward 15 is an 18 bedded care of the elderly ward caring for Dementia and Delirium patients and part of the medical directorate. The team provides high standards of care for the elderly promoting mobility and well being, preventing de conditioning.
Experience in Dementia care is desirable due to the complex needs and challenges of the patients on the ward but training will be available.
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care. The role includes housekeeping duties, providing personal care to patients and ensuring the patients daily activities of living needs are met and to the highest of standards.
The successful candidate would be involved in motivating patients to achieve some adjusted level of independence and create stimulation to patients whilst they are in hospital.
The individual will be required to have good communication skills to be able to relate to patients, members of patients families and the multidisciplinary team that work within the clinical area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The successful candidate is expected to have a kind caring and compassionate nature, demonstrating empathy to patients and relatives with good communication skills.
The candidate will be responsible to Ward Manager, Ward sister and the qualified nurse in charge of the shift.
All staff are expected to act professional at at all times, and have a flexible approach when it comes to the day and night shift patterns that they are expected to work.
