Health Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a variety of settings, including home care and care homes. Your primary focus will be on assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing while promoting independence. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed, adhering to dietary requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Drive to patients' homes or care facilities as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled visits.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in patient living areas to promote hygiene and comfort.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to the individual needs of patients.
  • Basic IT skills for documentation purposes and communication within the team.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial attributes for this role.
