We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Operative to join our team. The role involves maintaining a variety of outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and larger public areas. You will work with a range of tools and equipment to perform tasks such as:

• Lawn mowing using walk-behind and ride-on mowers
• Hedge trimming
• Weed control (using weed spraying knapsacks)
• Tree pruning and care
• General grounds maintenance

Equipment used: Hedge trimmers, pole saws, chainsaws (with training), and weed spraying knapsacks. PA1 & PA6 training will be provided for weed control.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform grounds maintenance tasks across commercial, domestic, and public sector sites.
• Operate machinery such as mowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws (training provided where required).
• Apply weed control measures using knapsacks (training for PA1 & PA6 certification will be provided).
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any defects.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar grounds maintenance position is desirable.
• A valid driving licence is essential.
• Certificates in operating plant machinery and chainsaws are desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to undergo PA1 & PA6 training for weed control.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £23,795.00-£28,600.00 per year
