Customer Service To ensure that excellent customer service is demonstrated at all times by: Ensure all customers are greeted as you go about your job – say hello and smile Be aware of customers as you go about your role, be aware of customers who may require assistance Developing a good knowledge of stock within the store, ensuring that you can assist customers with any queries they may have or lead them to products when asked Be aware of what is happening in the rest of the store so that you can advise customers Ensure any issues concerning customer care are reported to your Supervisor in the first instance Adhere to the standards of presentation required for the store, including ensuring your uniform is clean and tidy, arriving to work in a presentable fashion and wearing your name badge Floor Duties To replenish stock in your department in a quick and efficient manner, ensuring shelves are full To rotate the stock when replenishing department to ensure the products are fresh, checking the dates of products to ensure they are fit for sale Assist in changing displays of shop stock. Update all product labels and special offers in your department Assisting with regular stock checks and annual stock takes Ensure stores area is left clean and tidy at all times Dispose of packaging according to rules and regulations (cardboard in cardboard compactor, plastics in plastic compactor and general waste in grey compactor) Remove trolley from shop floor when leaving area of work for breaks, tills etc Till Duties Carry out till duties as and when required, i.e. till breaks and lunches and during busy times Operating the till and accurately handling cash and credit/debit card transactions Follow cashing up and cash drop procedures To replenish stock in your till environment (e.g. till rolls, bags etc.) Ensure all baskets, trolleys etc are removed from the till area To notify your supervisor of any discrepancies in the price of goods Provide a quick and efficient service for all customers, call extra staff if needed Ensure the maintenance of your till, reporting any faults etc Be age aware – know rules and regulations regarding selling cigarettes and associated products, knives, lottery and scratch cards and alcohol Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to £12.00 per hour Schedule:
