Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cut a variety of meats (beef, lamb, pork, poultry etc)
- Age and trim meat to the highest standard - Produce sausages, burgers and other speciality products - Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards - Provide expert advice and friendly service to customers on meat selection, cooking and preparation - Manage stock levels, ordering, and quality control
- Work as part of a team to maintain Fred Elliott Butcher's reputation for quality and service
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Able to work within a team
- Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area
- Serving raw meat products
- Good personality
- Working with the public
Qualifications:
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations
- Strong upselling skills to increase sales
- Culinary knowledge or experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented setting
- Strong time management skills to ensure efficient service
- Good experience as a butcher with proficiency in cutting and preparing various meats Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
