Job Description
Fidela Coffee Roasters is an established coffee roastery & coffee bar on the North Coast of Ireland, based in Coleraine. We have been exporting green coffee since 2016, and opened our coffee roastery in March of 2020, but our connection goes right the way back to origin.
Due to continued business growth we are seeking to employ an Experienced Barista at our roastery & coffee bar in Coleraine.
An ideal candidate will be responsible for continuing to uphold our high standards in coffee quality and customer service. The candidate should have a genuine interest in specialty coffee, an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of the preparation of espresso and filter drinks, and be committed to continual growth of their knowledge, and a passion to continue to improve their craft.
Job Location: Fidela Coffee Roasters, 9a Newmills Road, Coleraine, BT52 2JR
Job Hours and length: Full time OR Part time, permanent - this role will include weekends, we currently operate a rolling rota of weekends off. If you are unable to work weekends, this role may not be suitable for you.
Interviews: please note, following a verbal interview, the candidate will be expected to carry out a practical interview to assess their suitability
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparation of espresso and filter based drinks

• Engagement in conversation regarding the coffees, their process, and any other details

• Delivering excellent customer service

• Packing coffee bags

• Daily coffee machine cleaning and maintenance

• Engagement in social media posts daily

• Restocking supplies

• Daily cleaning

Qualifications & Skills

• Whilst not essential, SCA certified barista training is ideal

• A tenured experience in the speciality coffee scene

• In depth knowledge of speciality coffee

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Computer literate

• Problem solving skills

• Adaptable to change

• Coaching skills

• Hold a full UK (or transferable) driving licence

Additional Information
Whilst this role's primary responsibility involves barista skills the successful applicant will be expected to carry out an extensive range of roles and responsibilities in the cafe. Where applicable, the appropriate training will be provided to the individual.
The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest and enjoyment for specialty coffee. We don’t exist because coffee is “in right now”, we’re here for the long haul. The candidate should share a similar ethos.
