A rare opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Practitioner to join our Early Years Team within First Step Community Project. This post has been in operation for over 4 years and is currently funded through our funder Garfield Weston until March 2025 we are commitment to securing continued funding for this post as we have done so for previous years. Working within an established Early Years Team the post holder will support in delivering the best possible early learning and childcare for our children between 3 to school aged. The successful candidate will need to support the vision, mission and values of First Step Community Project. Practitioner level qualification and post qualification experience working within an early learning and childcare setting is essential. Good knowledge of Early Years frameworks, legislation and guidance as well as planning for and tracking children’s progress is also a requirement for the post. The post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme, SSSC Registration at Practitioner level and satisfactory references. Key responsibilities and duties of the post
Working in a child-centred way, observe, plan and deliver a range of appropriate early learning experiences which promotes progression in key areas of child development.
Through respectful and trusting relationships with parents and carers actively encourage their engagement in their child’s learning and development by promoting the valued role they have in helping their child to achieve.
Promote an inclusive environment and practices which encompass appreciation for diversity delivered in a way that ensures equality of access for, and accounts for the varying needs of all children.
In collaboration with children, parents, carers and other staff, identify and evidence ongoing self-evaluation with the aim to set out actions to secure future improvements within the Early Years Service.
Participate in the life of the project contributing to the sense of community between children, parents, carers and staff.
