Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / Takeaway Assistant / Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation is carried out efficiently and in accordance with food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about cooking, working as a team and serving customers
Duties

• Assist cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, making sandwiches, toasties, panini's.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitised, including washing up and cleaning down at end of day
• Help with the assembly of meals and plating dishes for service, including cooking and serving on Takeaway, using fryers and griddles.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times.
• Support the kitchen team during busy periods by taking on additional responsibilities as needed in both cafes, including cooking in our smaller cafe.
• Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the Cook/Manager.

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is essential with a willingness to learn more.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and culinary terminology will be advantageous.
• Understanding of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment are essential.
• A passion for cooking and a desire to develop culinary skills further will be beneficial for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: From £22,880.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
