Community Wellbeing Support Worker

Location: Fife
Salary: £28,593 per year
Contract Type: Permanent in the line with funding
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families? We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Wellbeing Support Worker to join our team, providing tailored support to young people and their families to improve their mental health, wellbeing, and overall family functioning.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Service Delivery:
  • Build supportive, goal-focused relationships with young people and families, fostering positive mentoring and trust.
  • Collaborate with young people and families to identify, record, and address support needs.
  • Work with community resources, organizations, and support systems to create sustainable, positive change within families.
  • Assess and respond to situations where young people or families may be at risk of harm, escalating and referring cases as needed.
  • Provide effective support for young people and families to access universal and specialized services, improving mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adopt a whole-family approach, offering practical, social, and emotional support to boost family functioning, wellbeing, and parental confidence.
People:
  • Understand the unique mental health needs of each young person and family, identifying any barriers to support and addressing them with empathy and resilience.
  • Foster open, trusting, and non-judgmental relationships with young people and families.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual strengths, fostering hope and encouraging progress towards health and wellbeing goals.
  • Collaborate with teams, including the CAMHS Early Intervention Team and Our Mind Matters Pupil Support Team, to identify children and young people needing more well-being support.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be resilient, empathetic, and have a genuine desire to improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes for young people and their families. You should be comfortable managing emotions, recognizing behavioral challenges, and supporting positive change.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience working with young people and families, particularly in mental health and wellbeing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build trust and provide non-judgmental support.
  • Ability to work effectively with community resources and support systems.
  • Professional resilience when handling sensitive or challenging issues.
