We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while assisting with food preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Duties

• Assist in the preparation of food items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
• Help serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders and answering any queries they may have.
• Perform basic maths to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the cafe.
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
• Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• A willingness to help colleagues and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
• Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.

This position will be based between both Kerrie's Coffee Shop and Swifteas Food and Coffee Truck. We are looking for team members who will be available between the hours of 7 am and 3 pm, Monday to Friday and 9 am to 2pm on Saturday. We aim to open Swifteas on a Saturday and Sunday 9am to 1pm in the future.
