We are looking for someone with to operate buses capable of carrying 16 or more passenger on public roads in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds. Operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered vehicles typically having a maximum Gross Vehicle Weigh (max GVW)

About the role:
You will be responsible for driving 1 or more type of passenger buses carrying 16 or more passengers, utilizing GPS and Satnav, whilst being able to judge the road and traffic conditions. You will also be responsible for operating one or more electric, LPG or diesel-powered forklift truck to facilitate loading and unloading duties. This position will include carrying out operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tyres as well as cleaning and washing the vehicles. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documents such as operator checklists and forms and accident/incident forms. You will also ensure you are utilizing safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and also maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Your hours of work will be 39.00 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) –where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.

About you:
The successful applicant will have both the knowledge of operating buses carrying 216 or more passengers and the knowledge of cargo handling and hauling techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo. You will have the knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practises and procedure4s pertaining to motor vehicle and forklift operation, including the operations of LPG, Diesel and electric forklifts. You will have the knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel or electric powered vehicles with a GVW under 44 tonnes such as heavy load in-line trucks, or interstate coaches. You will also have the ability to judge road and traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest, fastest and safest route; interpret instructions, specifications related to motor vehicle, forklift and power take off unit operation and preventative maintenance; and also, be able to meet pick p and delivery deadlines and schedules.
Qualification requirements:
· A valid-in date category D driving license is required.
· Must hold a Drivers Certificate of Professional Competency (Driver CPC)
· A valid, in-date fork lift license is desired but not essential
Driver's license and Drivers CPC must be submitted for your application to be valid.

You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
