You will also be responsible for operating one or more electric, LPG or diesel-powered forklift truck to facilitate loading and unloading duties. This position will include carrying out operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tyres as well as cleaning and washing the vehicles. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documents such as operator checklists and forms and accident/incident forms. You will also ensure you are utilizing safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and also maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Your hours of work will be 39.00 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) –where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies. For specific qualification requirements for this position, you can visit: Federal Wage System Job Grading Standard for Motor Vehicle Operating, 5703 About you: The successful applicant will have both the knowledge of operating buses carrying 216 or more passengers and the knowledge of cargo handling and hauling techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo. You will have the knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices and procedure4s pertaining to motor vehicle and forklift operation, including the operations of LPG, Diesel and electric forklifts. You will have the knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel or electric powered vehicles with a GVW under 44 tones such as heavy load in-line trucks, or interstate coaches. You will also have the ability to judge road and traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest, fastest and safest route; interpret instructions, specifications related to motor vehicle, forklift and power take off unit operation and preventative maintenance; and also, be able to meet pick p and delivery deadlines and schedules. Qualification requirements: · A valid-in date category D driving license is required. · Must hold a Drivers Certificate of Professional Competency (Driver CPC) · A valid, in-date fork lift license is desired but not essential Drivers license and Drivers CPC must be submitted for your application to be valid.
