Joining our friendly and hard working TP family as a Branch Sales Assistant, you’ll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into your branch; playing a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service and keeping colleagues and customers safe at all times.
Travis Perkins is the UK's largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, supplying thousands of products and materials, and a hire service, to trade professionals and self-builders across the nation. With a wide range of quality timber, building materials, kitchens, plumbing and heating, landscaping, painting and decorating essentials and tools for the job - we do what matters for the trade.
What will I be doing?
You’ll work within the branch Sales Team, dealing directly with customers to maximise sales at every opportunity, working to expand our customer base by helping to identify and develop new accounts. On a day to day basis you will be handling customer orders and enquiries by phone and email on a frequent basis. Most of our customers are regulars, so you will build up friendly relationships by giving great customer service which will encourage repeat business. You will communicate with the team and suppliers to ensure a smooth transaction for the customer from start to finish, making sure their order is delivered on time and in full. You will also be involved in face to face customer service on the trade counter.
What experience do you need?
This is a key customer facing role, you just need the ability to provide great customer service, be confident in a sales environment...we can teach you about our products.
Does this sound like you?
You will be a confident communicator, able to build rapport with all customers and an ability to sell! You will handle sales calls via phone and email, you will support the counter sales in the branch serving face to face but also support the internal sales team with quotes, invoices and queries.
