Autism Support Worker

Support Worker – Peebles
We are looking for you to be an ambassador for the support and care of individuals with autism.
We understand that people with autism may see, experience and understand the world around them in a different way to people without autism. We gain an understanding of each person, enabling us to know how we must change in order to communicate successfully and to provide the best support for them.
We know that everyone is an individual and autism affects each person differently. This is exactly why we have separate personal plans for each person we support. No two plans are the same. Our residents can be wheelchair users or needing full support because behavioural issues, it really does vary.
Each individual suffers from autism, and you will be on hand to provide our clients with support in their daily routine. The core tasks of which you will be of assistance are personal care, moving & handling, meal preparation and small medication requirements.
You will be working with a great bunch of characters who all enjoy their own fun filled experiences, whether that be watching their favourite programme, heading out for a nice walk or grabbing a spot of lunch. There is always something to do, so you can expect to be kept busy!
You have the chance to choose between either a part or full-time position, with added bonus of this opportunity potentially becoming permanent if that is what you are looking for. We are dedicated to promoting the development of our staff, and with that in mind, you will have access to our internal training scheme to help progress you to the next level. In return, we just need you to have a genuine passion for the role. You will be the type of person that feels making a difference in someone's life is the priority on shift, so that they can enjoy every second of every day.
If this sounds like the right opportunity to fit in with your current commitments, get in touch with Andrew on 0131 539 9339, or simply click APPLY NOW.
Oh, one last thing to make sure you will be the right fit...
We asked our team why they enjoy working for Trust Care and found we share key values. If these are values you care about, you can be sure you'll fit in just fine!
- Respect and dignity – Our staff are amazing, and we want to make sure that never changes. With that in mind, we provide the best training & support possible to keep them at their best.
- Caring and Friendly – We care about our staff as much as we want our staff to care about our clients. We believe having this relationship in place is crucial, so our staff can feel at ease when caring for others.
- Experienced – Due to our professionalism, this is a risk-free environment. We never put our staff/clients in a position that we wouldn't put ourselves in.
- Reliable – You are a care professional, so we treat you as such. You don't need to be concerned about future work or problems with pay, we've got your back. We want you to focus on what you do best.
- Passionate & Active Listeners – We encourage our staff to talk to us. If you ever have a concern or problem, we want to be the ones to help you solve it. Happy staff makes for happy clients.
