Homeroom Teacher

Key Responsibilities:
  • Student Guidance and Support:
  • Monitor the academic progress, attendance, and behavior of students.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them develop essential life skills.
  • Identify and address any issues or challenges students may face, referring them to the appropriate resources or professionals as needed.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement classroom rules and procedures, ensuring that students adhere to them.
  • Address disciplinary issues promptly and in accordance with school policies.
  • Parent and Guardian Communication:
  • Regularly update parents and guardians on their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Organize and lead parent-teacher conferences and meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the school and families, fostering a strong home-school connection.
  • Coordination with Faculty and Staff:
  • Work closely with subject teachers to monitor and support students’ academic progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, and other professionals to support student needs.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, evaluations, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with the organization of school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Curriculum and Instruction:
  • Provide instruction in designated subjects, if applicable, following the school’s curriculum guidelines.
  • Develop lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' academic performance, providing feedback and support as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license as required by the state or country.
  • Previous experience in teaching or a related educational role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and build strong relationships with students and parents.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
