Homeroom Teacher
Key Responsibilities:
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
- Student Guidance and Support:
- Monitor the academic progress, attendance, and behavior of students.
- Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them develop essential life skills.
- Identify and address any issues or challenges students may face, referring them to the appropriate resources or professionals as needed.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom rules and procedures, ensuring that students adhere to them.
- Address disciplinary issues promptly and in accordance with school policies.
- Parent and Guardian Communication:
- Regularly update parents and guardians on their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Organize and lead parent-teacher conferences and meetings.
- Act as a liaison between the school and families, fostering a strong home-school connection.
- Coordination with Faculty and Staff:
- Work closely with subject teachers to monitor and support students’ academic progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, and other professionals to support student needs.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, evaluations, and other required documentation.
- Assist with the organization of school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
- Curriculum and Instruction:
- Provide instruction in designated subjects, if applicable, following the school’s curriculum guidelines.
- Develop lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Assess and evaluate students' academic performance, providing feedback and support as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license as required by the state or country.
- Previous experience in teaching or a related educational role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and build strong relationships with students and parents.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
