Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative, highly skilled, and passionate Chef to join our culinary team where the future is promised, job security and job comfort. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for food, a strong understanding of various cooking methods, and the ability to deliver high-quality dishes consistently. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, developing new recipes, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing petty cash, preparing cost analyses, and ensuring financial documentation is ready for submission to the accounts department. A valid driver's license and access to a car are required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Development: Design and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and current food trends, while ensuring that the menu offerings align with cost and pricing strategies.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, purchasing, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Revenue Generation: Collaborate with the management team to develop promotional strategies, special events, and menu pricing to drive sales and increase revenue.
  • Cost Control: Monitor food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to ensure that budgetary goals are met. Implement cost-saving measures such as portion control, waste reduction, and efficient use of resources.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure that all costs related to ingredients, supplies, and other kitchen expenses are accurately tracked and documented. Prepare financial reports and cost analyses for submission to the accounts department.
  • Petty Cash Management: Maintain petty cash for the kitchen, ensuring all expenses are recorded accurately and within budget. Reconcile petty cash regularly and submit records to the accounts team.
  • Transportation: Use a personal vehicle for the procurement of ingredients, supplies, and other necessary items when required. Ensure timely and efficient transportation to and from suppliers and events.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Engage with customers, if necessary, to receive feedback and make adjustments to dishes or menus based on their preferences.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and experiment with new recipes and cooking techniques.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
  • Understanding of budgeting, inventory management, and food cost control.
  • Experience in revenue generation and implementing cost control strategies.
  • Experience with financial reporting and petty cash management.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
