Position Title: IT Support Specialist Reports to: General Manager Location: KKTC Overview: Seeking a dedicated and talented IT Support Specialist to oversee the hospital's IT infrastructure and manage daily operations. The role involves maintaining hardware, software and internet connectivity, ensuring the smooth implementation and operation of our patient management system. The ideal candidate will be proactive in troubleshooting, managing cloud-based solutions and ensuring the security and availability of our IT systems. Key Responsibilities: 1.Hardware & Software Maintenance oMonitor, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, servers, and hospital devices. o Ensure that all systems are updated with the latest software and security patches. o Install and configure new hardware and software as required, ensuring compatibility with the hospital's needs. 2.Internet Connectivity Management o Resolve internet and network issues promptly, ensuring uninterrupted hospital operations. o Work with service providers to address connectivity problems and optimize network performance. 3.Cloud Server Management & Security o Lead decision-making on cloud server setup, maintenance, and security. o Implement regular backups, ensure data integrity, and manage disaster recovery solutions. o Collaborate with external providers for cloud solutions and server management to ensure GDPR compliance. 4.Domain & Email Management o Manage hospital domains, including renewals, payments, and troubleshooting. o Oversee email system setup, troubleshooting, and security across hospital staff. 5.Patient Management Software Implementation o Collaborate with the new Patient Management Software provider to oversee the system implementation. o Ensure data migration is secure and aligns with hospital data protection policies. o Provide ongoing support and updates for the system, ensuring it runs efficiently post-implementation. 6.IT Security & Data Privacy
o Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
o Manage and monitor network security protocols and firewalls. o Implement and maintain encryption for sensitive data, particularly patient records and lab data. 7.System Integration for New Embryo Lab o Coordinate with the embryo lab team to ensure that IT systems support lab equipment. o Implement and maintain IT solutions for barcode systems, lab devices, and integration with the patient management system. 8.Troubleshooting and IT Support o Provide timely support to hospital staff on IT issues (hardware, software, and connectivity). o Ensure 24/7 support or coverage for critical hospital systems. 9.Vendor and Contract Management o Liaise with external IT service providers for hardware and software purchases and repairs. o Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service agreements, and ensure timely renewals for all IT-related contracts. Workflow 1.Daily Routine: o Perform daily system checks for hardware, software, and network functionality. o Address and resolve IT support tickets submitted by staff. o Ensure timely updates to software, operating systems, and antivirus protection. 2.Weekly Tasks: o Backup critical data, ensuring secure storage on cloud servers. o Review network and server performance, addressing any bottlenecks or inefficiencies. o Conduct security audits and update security protocols as necessary. 3.Monthly Tasks: o Conduct regular domain management, including payment renewals and updating domain security. o Review cloud server usage and storage capacities, scaling as required. o Implement updates and patches for the Patient Management System and other hospital software. o Test system backups for integrity and perform recovery drills. 4.Quarterly Tasks: o Meet with the hospital leadership to discuss IT developments, budgeting, and future IT needs. o Conduct a comprehensive security audit, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations. o Review contracts with vendors and IT service providers, negotiating where necessary. 5.As-Needed Tasks: o Respond to urgent IT issues, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations. o Work with external providers to troubleshoot or escalate complex problems. o Manage the setup of new users or workstations as the hospital grows. o Provide training to hospital staff on new systems and cybersecurity best practices. Skills & Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. •Proven experience in IT support, preferably in a healthcare or lab setting. •Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) and GDPR compliance. •Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. •Familiarity with patient management software systems and healthcare IT solutions. •Excellent communication and organizational skills. •Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
