Operational Excellence & Sustainability Manager
Summary:
The primary focus of the role will be focus on developing, implementing, and driving a LEAN & 6σ culture including develop a Sustainability Framework that aligns with our vision of providing "Solutions for a Sustainable World™". for Rayong operations site. Drive efficiencies and enhanced interconnectivity across our Digitalization transformation.
This new organizational culture will exude a winning attitude leveraging both external and internal best practices and constantly challenging itself to improve. Also responsible for training, coaching and mentoring employees - driving a Continuous Improvement Mindset for their areas of responsibility.
This role interfaces with operators, supervisors, engineers, technologists, functional leaders, and other Operations Excellence Experts to ensure effective implementation. Drive delivery of year-over-year sustainable improvements to critical business metrics to ensure above average growth and market competitiveness.
Responsibilities Include:
- Define a framework for Momentive´s local LEAN / six sigma culture.
- Lead and mentor Lean, DMAIC, transactional, and productivity savings projects.
- Own, represent, implement, and continuously improve the LEAN / six sigma culture and act as a spokesperson for the organisation.
- Work closely with CI Leader to deploy Continuous Improvement across all business functions as directed.
- Develop project scope, objectives, and metrics that coach, mentor and assist project teams and provide input on priorities.
- Manage project development and selection, development of project plans, financial evaluations, and metrics identification; follow toll gate reviews; maintain project database and reporting systems.
- Own the strategy development and deployment process for the manufacturing organization in Rayong.
- Use standard global Continuous Improvement program tools & methods while working with functional & regional leaders and deploy high impact regional and functional projects using Continuous Improvement methodology that support the businesses, functions and manufacturing plant sites.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement through lean behaviors, lean tools, and lean principles, while holding joint ownership of operational results
- Lead delivery of training in support of the business training plan and drive Continuous Improvement cultural growth in conjunction with Momentive's Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Drive the development of methodologies, systems, tools that support the increase of OEE, reduction of production costs, improvement of EHS, Quality and OTIF Rate KPIs
- Facilitate tailored improvement plans to achieve challenging goals and create a competitive advantage for the plants.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and monitor the consistency of the process across site and functional deployments.
- Work with process owners to translate functional goals into Lean Continuous Improvement strategies/projects, and quantifiable results.
- Coach, train, and develop LEAN Practitioner, Champions, and executives in Continuous Improvement methodology.
- Continually seek state-of-the-art solutions from external world which will make a difference for Momentive.
- Ensuring company sustainability program are align with the local and DIW requirements.
- Implementing policies relating to a company’s ethical, sustainable, and environmental responsibilities
- Embed our Ops Excellence improvements (EHS, OEE, Quality, OOS) into our MOS, leading to Implement MES & GLIMS with measurable impact.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Operations or Chemistry
- Minimum 15 years´ professional experience, thereof min 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management and/or Lean operations
- True inspirational leader, leading without formal authority - able to drive cultural transformation.
- Strong communication skills, ability to communicate on different levels in a diverse matrix environment.
- Entrepreneurial work mentality, innovative and creative thinking
- Ability to motivate people on all levels.
- Proven coaching and training skills and experience.
- A track record of Continuous Improvement efforts with proven successful sustained outcomes.
- PMI or Green Belt certification
- Strong analytical expertise coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to all levels
- Profound experience with Lean methods, such as: A3, 5S, Gemba, Kaizen, Lean Layout (Cells), Makigami, OEE, One Piece Flow, Poka Yoke, Problem Solving, QCO / SMED, Shopfloor-Mgmt., Six Sigma, Standardized Work, TPM, Visual Management, VSM, Yamazumi (Line Balancing) - preferably certified (master) black belt.
