We are seeking a Raw Materials Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for qualifying raw material changes, developing alternative / second source raw materials, defining critical to performance parameters, and implementing new technologies for raw material improvement.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with technical groups in R&D and manufacturing to facilitate the optimization and commercialization of new raw materials used in pad manufacturing.
Work with analytical team to implement key ISQ tools for incoming raw material testing to improve manufacturing capability and product cost.
Collaborate with analytical team to evaluate testing for process control and quality control (gage studies, sensitivity studies).
Create FMEA’s of new raw materials with information from supplier processes and sub-raw materials
Run qualification of new raw material ( includes changes to POR and terminal buy product)
Work with stage gate team to update design and/or process FMEA based on learnings from optimization / commercialization of new raw material
Assess current raw materials and recommend improvements/updates based on available Most Effective Technology (MET) for applications of mixing, filtration, processing, and metals reduction.
Implement preventative and corrective modifications to raw material products that are part of stage gate or recently commercialized based on the findings of root cause analyses
Evaluate the capability of modified products and processes to meet specifications and control limits.
Define, direct, or perform process investigations as needed in order to ensure success of PCN process/product
Provide technical expertise to manufacturing operations to maintain production performance or restore process capability
Represent the company during interactions with customers and suppliers regarding raw material quality
Establish quality requirements for raw materials/ testing processes
Communicate results and progress to technical teams, management, and business leadership through written report and oral presentations

Your Qualification Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or materials engineering, chemistry or a related technical field
Japanese, Mandarin,English language, verbal and written preferred
5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or lab environment in a similar role is required
Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment building strong relationships, and driving results
Experience with raw material supplier management is a plus
Experience in the semiconductor, specialty chemical or pharmaceutical industries
Successful candidate should have strong collaborative R&D mindset
Strong analytical skills, with experience in using data to identify issues, implement solutions, and track progress
Strong project management skills and ability to execute complex projects and navigate multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and critical thinking with the ability to make data driven decisions and actionable recommendations
Familiarity with a variety of analytical techniques, such as NMR, GPC, FT-IR, SEM, DMA, TGS, DSC, etc.
Able to develop and implement project plans
Working knowledge of Quality management skills such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, Six-sigma and use of statistical software such as JMP.
