For January 2025 we are seeking a full-time experienced Science Lab Technician to support IB Chemistry, Physics, and Biology practicals. Working in a team with another technician and 12 teachers, the technician will help ensure all practical lessons are ready with at least two days’ notice. Fluency in English is required, because English is the main language of instruction. Proficiency in French is advantageous. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing demands in a dynamic educational setting.
Key Skills & Experience:
Suitable qualifications and experience as a Science Lab Technician in a school setting.
Proficiency in Chemistry, with basic knowledge of Physics and Biology experiment setups.
Familiar with health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with teachers to ensure lesson preparation is timely and efficient.
Prepare chemicals and apparatus for IB Chemistry practicals.
Assist with setting up Physics and Biology experiments.
Maintain lab safety and cleanliness, including cleaning and organising glassware and chemicals.
Conduct stock checks and order necessary supplies.
Dispose of chemical waste properly, ensuring a safe environment.
The post will begin during our Gstaad term, with lessons from Monday to Saturday morning. However, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons have no lessons. The remainder of the school year is based on our beautiful Rolle campus where our state-of-the-art Science facilities will be inaugurated in the Summer of 2025. Le Rosey is a boarding school and the post will be residential. On-campus accommodation is provided and conditions of work are attractive.
