Part of the Information and Data (I&D) Division, Data Governance team works to define and implement state-of-the-art data practices within our organization to make data and analytics more accessible, trustworthy, and actionable. Our goal is to maximizes the investment in data and analytics initiatives by promoting the proper use of analytics in business processes, ensuring accurate insights based on quality data, reducing risks with security, and guiding the prioritization of projects so the right information is available at the right time

What your day would be like
As the Manager Data Governance Platform you will play a pivotal role in the team managing our data governance programs and solutions, ensuring it meets the needs of various stakeholders, maintains high standards of data quality and monitor compliance.
You are expected to work closely with the I&D colleagues and all data stakeholders in IATA to align data initiatives with business goals.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including C-level executives, to coordinate the organization’s data catalog initiatives. This ensures the establishment and maintenance of cohesive and effective data cataloging processes, which are integral to IATA’s broader data governance strategy and objectives.
- Ensure the IATA Data Catalog accurately explains our data and its lineage and integrates data from all solutions and systems.
- Meticulously review and validate the data entered our systems to maintain high standards of data quality.
- Configure and build a solution that simplifies data access and usability for stakeholders, enhancing their overall experience.
- Provide guidance and support to users on data catalog usage and best practices.
- Act as the application owner of the Data Catalog, ensuring effective user access management.
- Collaborate with data modeller and data engineers in the management and development of the Unified Reference Data.
- Contribute to the documentation and development of IATA data solutions, working closely with the Data Engineering team
We would love to hear from you if
- You have a postgraduate degree in computer science, business management, or a related discipline.
- You possess at least 5 years of practical experience in a role that dealt with the management of data in integrated solutions within an organization, including experience with multiple systems where data was an important part of the job, from data entry, data stewardship, data manipulation, to data migration.
- You are meticulous about the design of solutions, ensuring they are visually appealing and user-friendly.
- Experience in data analysis, including profiling, auditing, balancing, and reconciliation, but also in relevant cloud technologies and data warehouses
- You have excellent analytical skills and experience applying evidence-based data analysis to solve business problems.
- Ability to communicate well to both technical and non-technical staff
- You have strong interpersonal communication skills in English; other languages are an advantage.
