Head of Controlling Retail Europe
(f/m/d) (100 %)
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Controlling Retail to oversee and drive the financial and business analysis for our Retail Sales Channels across Europe. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring transparency in business reporting, and optimizing profitability for the retail business of both brands.
As the Head of Controlling Retail, you will work closely with senior leadership, influencing business decisions, driving financial performance, and leading the development and implementation of best practices in sales and financial reporting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the strategic planning and business analysis function for the Retail Sales Channels across Europe
- Consolidate, manage, and prepare standard sales reporting guidelines, retail channel planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Oversee channel and customer profitability analyses
- Ensure the highest standards of transparency and accuracy in all business reports and financial data, including monthly P&L statements
- Identify potential financial risks and opportunities within the Retail business, ensuring timely communication and resolution
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (Retail, Finance, HR, and Brand) to develop and implement retail strategies within the Mid-Term/Business Plan
- Support the design and implementation of new business models, processes, and retail concepts to improve efficiency and growth
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting efforts, including revenue analysis, cost management, ROI, and profitability for the retail business
- Drive the creation and implementation of tools that enhance sales performance, cost control, and P&L management
- Contribute to the formulation of the annual and strategic business plans from a financial and business analysis perspective
Your ideal profile:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in controlling, ideally within a retail or commercial controlling environment, which provides you with a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities in retail financial management
- You possess a strong command of finance, with advanced knowledge of controlling and reporting systems such as SAP/BW. You are proficient in tools like Access, Excel, Visio, and MS Project
- You have a high level of business acumen and excellent mathematical and IT skills, enabling you to provide valuable financial insights and contribute to strategic business decisions
- You have proven your ability to set and achieve financial targets, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of forecasts, budgets, and mid-term plans in cooperation with local stakeholders and the Head of Retail Europe
- You possess excellent leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills to motivate and guide teams. You are proactive, self-motivated, logical, and objective in your approach to solving challenges
- You excel in written and verbal communication in English, particularly in presenting complex data to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- You have a strong track record of delivering accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and reports within strict deadlines, supporting informed decision-making with timely and relevant data
