The Global Tech Lead Injection Molding acts as a champion in the technology of Injection Molding within the entire group. As such, he/she must understand how to add maximum value to business processes through disruptive and applied innovation, standardization, and improvement of existing solutions, so that the company can offer world-class products to our customers.
As a Global Technology Lead, the role is also to connect all communities of local experts to build a solid roadmap for successful technology development and integration within the entire group.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Analyze business processes and flows, both in production and support services, keeping the global view.
Connect and develop a network of internal on-site experts focusing on information and knowledge exchange, share of best practices, development of competences according to the technology maturity increase.
Connect and develop a network of partners and external suppliers that can support the group ambition and challenges.
Develop of roadmap of development of the technology around the 3 main streams: Innovation – Improvement – Standardization.
Innovation
Challenge the status quo with a view to disruptive improvement. Identify innovation potential and develop local or global technological solutions.
Participate in the development of an innovation culture within the company, focused on customer needs (internal and external), on safety, on efficiency and performance.
Lead the technology readiness process to deliver a mature solution to the projects.
Ensure the transfer of skills and knowledge to the industrialization team and supervise innovation integration.
Improvement
Assess current state performance.
Identify and measure improvement potentials.
Lead pilot team (sites) for improvement projects and lead the group deployment.
Develop and pilot best practices sharing platform.
Standardization
Develop a culture of standardization with an aim for the minimal technical solution.
Assess main process differentiator within the brands.
Build a roadmap for standardization opportunities.
Interact with Global Procurement to maintain process standardization as a key goal.
Requirements needed
Education and experience
Engineer in automation, mechanics, production, microtechnology or micromechanics or training closely related to production processes. Several years of experience could be significant and equivalent for this position.
Minimum 5 years of technical and industrial experience related to injection molding, that has called upon important intellectual faculties with proven significant conceptual and technical contributions.
Minimum 5 years in the medical device industry or similarly regulated industry, such as food or pharmaceutical, and knowledge of standards related to the field of activity.
Logic of technical organization linked to production flows.
Understanding of the needs of an industrial environment, experience in mechanical industry or industrial packaging would be an asset.
English speaking, additional language is an advantage.
