Job Purpose
The Global Data Product Services Lead (m/f/d) plays a key role in driving the strategic management and delivery of services related to data products hosted on Straumann Group’s Global Data Platform. This senior role will be responsible for delivering cross-functional data products and coordinating the delivery of business-driven data products. In close collaboration with the Global Data Platform Owner, this role will also ensure that all services surrounding data products are scalable, secure, and aligned with the needs of various stakeholders across the organization. The role aims to optimize the delivery and lifecycle management of data products to meet the operational and analytical requirements of the business.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Service Ownership and Strategy:
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data product releases, ensuring their alignment with the organization's broader data strategy.
Develop and execute a roadmap for the services around data products, enhancing user experience, operational efficiency, security, and scalability.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with the Global Data Platform Owner to ensure that the data product services are fully aligned with the overall platform strategy and roadmap, enabling seamless integration, consistency, and scalability of services across the entire data ecosystem.
Collaborate with data owners, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize services that enable seamless access and use of data products.
Act as a key point of contact for data product owners regarding the service performance of data products.
Service Development and Optimization:
Oversee the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of data product-related services, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Monitor service performance, identifying opportunities for improvements, and ensuring SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop and implement tools and dashboards to monitor the usage, quality, and performance of services.
Provide regular reporting and insights into the effectiveness of services, identifying bottlenecks or issues.
Governance and Compliance:
Implement data quality and integrity checks for all data products serviced.
Ensure that all services comply with organizational governance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Education
Master’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
Experience
10+ years of experience in data-related roles, with a strong focus on product or service management.
Proven experience and hands-on involvement in managing data products or platforms, including designing, developing, and delivering services.
Strong understanding of data engineering, data governance, and the design of secure, scalable data pipelines.
Experience in managing services within a decentralized or data mesh framework.
Experience with AWS data pipelines, as well as SAP BW or Datasphere would be an advantage.
