EY Ripples is our global corporate responsibility program that mobilizes EY people, knowledge and networks to positively impact 1 billion lives by 2030. The Global Corporate Responsibility (GCR) team takes a consistent, global approach to engage and inspire our people to use their skills, knowledge, experience and energy to significantly increase our social impact across all aspects of our business. The Commercial & Innovation (C&I) Special Projects Manager is a key role in the GCR function, working closely with the C&I Leadership to manage the go-to-market approach for a number of high profile global initiatives.

To achieve these goals, the C&I team within the GCR function oversees activities across three strategic focus areas:
Working with impact entrepreneurs – Helping scale small and growing businesses that are driving progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
Supporting the next generation workforce - Supporting young and underserved people to develop the mindsets and skills they’ll need to find and sustain meaningful work; and
Accelerating environmental sustainability – driving adoption of behaviors, technologies and business models that protect and regenerate the environment while unlocking economic opportunity.
The C&I Special Projects Manager is a critical role in the GCR function, working closely with the C&I Leadership to design, launch and execute high profile campaigns, collaborations and initiatives across the C&I pillar such as the ‘AI for Social Impact’ focus. The role holder should demonstrate experience of designing and executing social impact programs which leverage existing in-house capabilities and networks to drive rapid transformation. The role holder should also bring a strong internal and external network, and a proven ability to engage and influence senior leaders and change-makers both internally and externally in the market.

The role holder should demonstrate a true passion for driving sustainable inclusive growth, while channeling their knowledge, skills and experience to tackle some of society’s toughest challenges.
Your key responsibilities
Provide support to the C&I Leadership, and leverage a good understanding of leading practice, market insights and emerging trends to make significant and sustained contributions to the ‘All in’ strategy and EY Ripples ambition
Design and execute special projects required to activate EY Ripples both internally (e.g. across Service Lines or EY Member Firms), and externally with EY clients, impact entrepreneurs and third parties with whom we collaborate to scale our impact
Manage the execution of the AI for Social Impact strategy, and the innovation, design, scaling and continuous improvement of the portfolio of global offerings– leveraging leading practice, a sound understanding of the technology and key relationships to develop EY’s internal capability, increase staff participation and drive considerable external impact
Represent the AI for Social Impact focus towards the EY-wide program management office, support communication and updates for senior leadership, and ensure alignment with their strategy, communication plans, and budget requirements.
Effectively lead the delivery of key projects within C&I, managing external stakeholders as well as internal delivery teams in a global environment
Manage internal relationships with senior BMC, CR, Service Line, Talent, Markets and Global Client Service Partner (GCSP) stakeholders to co-design and execute special projects which leverage existing EY capabilities and networks
Manage external relationships with EY clients, impact entrepreneurs and third parties to build impact ecosystems and alliances based on shared purpose and the achievement of mutual social impact goals
Attend and represent EY at high profile internal and external impact ecosystem events and meetings alongside C&I Leadership
Effectively partner with the Measurement and Reporting team to ensure that global participation and impact relating to special projects and global offerings for impact entrepreneurs are recorded, tracked and communicated
Effectively partner with the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team to create content and communication strategies that drive internal and external demand for special projects and global offerings for impact entrepreneurs
Effectively partner with enabling functions (e.g. Finance, Risk, Legal, Security etc) to mitigate/manage the risks associated with such a large-scale global deployment of special projects and global offerings for impact entrepreneurs, escalating issues promptly if required
Effectively partner with the Knowledge team and others to create, publish and leverage thought leadership, in particular to advance debate and understanding on leading practice, market insights and emerging trends for social impact activity
Skills and attributes for success
Demonstrate a passion and understanding of the social impact and corporate responsibility agenda and trends/market activity relating to technology and impact entrepreneurship
Be a storyteller, and thrive using a variety of multimedia platforms (e.g. Power Point) to clearly articulate the EY vision and promote EY Ripples initiatives
Innovative thinker with a strong interest in developing new ideas and the confidence to champion new ways of working with senior stakeholders
Strong ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with senior-level internal and external stakeholders
Ability to navigate complexity and successfully coordinate multiple initiatives in an evolving, high pressure environment
Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to establish and refine the strategies that drive brand as well as performance and continuous improvement
Delivery focused with a proven ability to deliver and manage complex portfolios of work, mitigate risk and manage multidimensional dependencies
Ability to flex personal style and work across geographies and cultures
To qualify for the role you must have
Solid understanding of the AI landscape and the intersection with ethics, privacy, and societal transformation
Experience in working in the social impact sector
Experience designing and executing high profile go-to-market strategies
Experience managing a portfolio of projects in client facing role
Experience in activating global employee engagement programs
Experience engaging, influencing and building collaborative relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
Experience working in large, diverse and virtual high-performance teams
Ideally, you’ll also have
Ability to leverage an extensive network of EY internal and/or external relationships to bring new opportunities and increase EY’s social impact
Experience working across geographies and cultures
Experience working with some of our strategic collaborators operating in this space
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
