Your role and responsibilities
As a Material Planner with us, you will play a key role in our Regional Distribution Center (RDC) and logistics chain, where you’ll be crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. The mission of the Material Planner is to support profitable growth by ensuring the accurate tactical planning of our demand and our operations, optimizing inventory and the perfect fulfillment of customers' orders. This mission is achieved by balancing and improving five metrics: customer on-time delivery, inventory, lead-time, forecast accuracy and resource optimization. This is an exciting and challenging role where you’ll work to optimize inventory management and procurement. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a natural talent for collaboration. ABB's Electrification business is a leading provider of a full range of protection, control and measurement solutions - enabling safer and smarter electricity flow from substation to the point of consumption. We deliver products and systems designed to connect, protect and control electrical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety for equipment and personnel. •Transactional responsibilities. Planners are in charge of all tactical and transactional purchasing activities. Purchase order placement to FF and coordination and ensure the update of FF delivery dates into system. Maintains FF and Stock service related KPIs, measure FF OTD (supply reliability). •Inventory parameters Calculates and maintains in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies. Ensures communication with GPG / FF and sales to ensure inventory is compliant with BL guidelines provided. •Inventory performance Analyses excess and obsolete/aging inventory. Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics. •Inventory controls Manages MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis. Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting. Conducts financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conducts root case analysis when necessary. •Analysis Identifying root causes for non-performance and driving improvement initiatives. •Tasks and projects Leading and aiding the project of planning technology solutions.Qualifications for the role
- University degree (Bachelor or Master), preferably within Planning & Logistic and at least 5 years’ experience in relevant field.
- You are self-confident, driven, customer focused and with the attitude that everything is achievable in a team.
- Robust experience in SAP and APO.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, written and spoken alike.
- Broad understanding and knowledge in end-to-end demand and supply chain.
- Good collaboration and communication skills on top of problem solving and analyzing abilities are success enablers in this role
