Purpose

To ensure all daily validation tasks are completed as per the contractual obligations and company policies and procedures. Compile validation reports and provide the finance department with the e-tag report as required. Ensure that reports to all internal and external clients are presented on time, and identify and report any shortages in toll fees collected. Ensure all roll-ups and day closure tasks are performed according to the pre-planned schedule. The incumbent must also ensure that subordinates comply with their main job purposes.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Ensure shift handover/vehicle handover reports are completed
All duties are to take place in accordance with the validation manuals
Plan and programme the daily tasks of the validation clerks
Ensure documentation from plazas is received on time and is in order
Attend to queries from plaza level and validation clerks
Ensure validation clerks perform duties as per contractual obligations and company policies and procedures
Ensure quality and quantity of validation meet internal and external demands
Follow up on and report exception validation anomalies
Prepare and submit e-tag roll-up and validation reports
Coordinate with IT to repair and report incidents with the department's computers
Conduct interviews and provide training for validation clerks
Provide assessments to all staff members annually
Programme the closing and roll-up schedule every three months
Perform overtime and standby duties when necessary
Ensure health, safety, and security policies and procedures are followed at all times
Maintain records of validated paperwork in Docufile
Ensure all validation work is completed, anomalies resolved, and days close checks performed accurately before closure
Assist validation clerks with their tasks
Ensure day closure and roll-ups are performed on schedule
Ensure no backlog of validation tasks
Ensure registers and filing of paperwork are accurate and complete
Ensure accuracy, quality, and quantity of validation work performed by staff
Qualifications, skills, and required competencies to meet the job outcomes
Grade 12
Diploma or certificate (added advantage)
MS Word/Excel
Knowledge of the company’s contractual obligations
Knowledge of toll collection procedures
Valid unendorsed code 8 driver’s licence (advantage)
Excellent communication skills in English

The physical demands are those of an office worker, with movement between offices as required.
