Minimum requirements
Senior Lecturer
- Doctorate in Food Science or Food Technology.
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience at a university level.
- Publications in DHET-accredited journals [minimum of three DHET-accredited publications over the
preceding three years].
- Evidence of successful supervision of postgraduate students [minimum of one Master’s student].
- Recipient of grant awards.
Lecturer
Master's degree in Food Science or Food Technology
Minimum of 3 years teaching / industrial experience
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Teach food science, legislation, and/or food microbiology modules at both undergraduates and
- postgraduate levels in the Food Science/ Biotechnology Programmes and to all faculties to which
- the Faculty of Applied Sciences renders service in undergraduate and honours level programs.
- Manage/ co-ordinate academic and research portfolios.
- Supervise undergraduate/ postgraduate students.
- Participate in community engagement projects.
- Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department.
