Senior Field Guide - Philippolis

High end Game Reserve close to Philippolis in the Free-State is looking for a Senior Field Guide. This position will appeal to a person prepared for an immersive safari environment and encounters with a wide range of wildlife species. Strong communication skills, a love for nature, and a commitment to conservation are essential qualities for this role. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to wildlife preservation efforts while providing guests with unforgettable safari experiences in Africa’s diverse and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Conducting guided safaris, for international guests we specialize in exclusive and photographic safaris
Ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of guests throughout their safari experience
Hosting guests with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing informative and engaging insights
Facilitating guest transfers to and from safari destination when required
Creating compelling content for social media platforms through still and video photography
Administrative duties

Requirements:

At least 5+ years in luxury safari reserves as a Field Guide
Minimum FGASA Level 1 qualification (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa)
DEAT (Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism) registration
CATHSSETA (Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority) registration
First Aid Level 1 Certification
Trails Guide Qualification will be an advantage
Experience and proficiency in 4x4 driving techniques
Rifle Competency for wildlife management and guest safety
Valid Driver’s License with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
Own vehicle for personal transport
Photographer at heart is essential
Confidence in snake handling and experience in wildlife photography is an added bonus.
