Responsibilities:
What we’re looking for:
This role will be responsible for the procurement of Secondary Packaging Materials est. $40MM p.a. across SA BU. Sourcing various packaging materials such as Corrugated cases, Paper and Glue.
Responsible to execute aligned strategy for the SA BU.
Design and implement specific technical platforms and supplier competitive Tension programs that will deliver further competitive advantage for the Pepsi Co MU’s and bring programs to Sector benchmarks.
Lead evaluation of all pricing offers for global RFP’s, by building sophisticated comparative pricing models and provide recommendations to category leaders.
Create and implement Value Engineering / Productivity pipeline for SA – leveraging Sector process and program
To deliver minimum 8% productivity p.a. from the compressible spend portion of $40MM SA spend.
To develop a pipeline of productivity initiatives with SA in excess of 8% p.a.
Establish CVA/commodity splits & pricing mechanism for all SA SKUs – isolate commodity pricing in order to create a cost strategy that provides effective risk management.
Provide PSP / AOP for SA region & track monthly PV analysis.
Provide technical leadership to the SA supplier base and be a driver of change and performance improvement for the business in line with Commercial and financial priorities. This includes providing capability to respond to the business need for niche & new products, Regional sourcing requirements and the need to comply with regulatory and environmental demands for.
Co-operation with Legal Department to ensure the most beneficial contract terms for Pepsi Co, preparation of the contracts and coordinate signing contracts are met.
Delivering daily purchasing needs for the category.
Manage supplier relationships with key strategic and non-strategic suppliers for category.
Manage and develop project procurement timeline and be key gate-keeper in all the critical Purchasing tasks to ensure on-time plan launch.
Develop and implement category BCP to mitigate supply risks.
Responsibility of productivity project identification and implementation in cooperation with sector Procurement and XFP team;
Leading implementation of category strategy and sourcing plans for the BU;
Supplier management:
Supplier selection in line with purchasing strategy for the scope: Participation in the local and regional supplier evaluation process and negotiation with suppliers
Participation in preparing the sourcing plans
Value engineering and productivity projects management and execution
New Supplier development
Maintaining the SQA & Sustainability requirements
Co-operation with Legal Department to ensure the most beneficial contract terms for Pepsi Co, preparation of the contracts and coordinate signing contracts
Manage supplier relationship through scorecard reviews on quarterly basis with key stakeholders.
Update and cleanse price lists on real time basis. SAP codes/description to be updated/cleansed.
Lead dispute resolution regarding material supply, quality issues, invoice and payment issues.
Support in developing new suppliers.
Represent procurement with cross functional stakeholder such as Marketing/Sales/Supply Chain/ R&D for all innovation and productivity projects.
Lead Category negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers.
Create and Maintain SAP contracts.
Tracking, Reporting and uploading monthly productivity projects in relevant tool.
Evaluate & evolve sourcing strategy based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations.
Keep close tracking of productivity pipeline to cover any risks to the plan.
Support commodity reporting; maintain price & inflation/deflation database including internal and external data.
Supplier liaison for supplier quality assurance program.
Support developing reports, analysis for and other packaging.
Deliver on agreed objectives and KPI’s to ensure successful category strategy implementation.
Deep functional experience, analytical thinking, proven success in supplier negotiation, utilization of procurement systems and metrics.
Proven ability to develop and implement innovative purchasing solutions and exhibit excellent analytical skills.
Significant experience in sourcing management.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Methodical approach of problems solving.
International sourcing experience.
Grasp of operations economics & cost drivers.
Commercial awareness.
Knowledge of market analysis tools and benchmarking methods.
Qualifications:

5 years’ experience in procurement function leading a similar packaging related category.
Ability to coordinate multiple cross functional teams to achieve objectives.
Proactive and able to manage ambiguity effectively.
Evolvement within international environment and multicultural understanding.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multi-functional teams networking, influencing & presenting ideas/programs, demonstrably powerful influencer.
Effective relationship building, development and maintenance with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to clearly communicate with all levels of the Pepsi Co Organisation’s and suppliers
Ability to work alone and take initiative. Identify potential roadblocks and profile them to Management for clarification and resolution.
