Research Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Research Assistant for a study focused on recruiting inmates from correctional facilities and providing comprehensive follow-up post-release. This role involves recruitment efforts within correctional facilities, conducting follow-up activities post-release, and leading a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the study's success.

- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to engage inmates within correctional facilities.
- Collaborate with correctional facility staff to facilitate recruitment efforts.
- Conduct informational sessions and interviews with potential study participants.
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and participant information.
- Establish and maintain contact with study participants post-release through telephonic communication and home visits
- Provide support and resources to participants to facilitate successful reintegration into society.
- Document and report follow-up activities and participant progress.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for recruitment and follow-up activities.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing recruitment and follow-up outcomes for study stakeholders.

- Grade 12
- Post-Matric Qualification
- Minimum two years’ experience in research projects recruiting, enrolling, and following up study participants.
- Prior experience with recruitment and follow-up of individuals from correctional facilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of issues relating to community reintegration of former inmates.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Windows-based programmes).
- Ability to assess client needs and provide relevant referrals.
- Ability to provide assistance in making appointments for clients, as needed.
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
- Needs to demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
- The role includes sharing of driving duties (a driver license will be an added advantage).
