Requirements
Be in possession of a B. Com in Finance or equivalent.
You should have 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar environment, of which 3 years are ideally at the senior management level.
You should have a proven track record in asset management.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement asset management strategies and policies that ensure the effective use and maintenance of all assets.
Recommend and implement any updates on policies and procedures.
Communicate to Kruger National Park any changes in asset requirements in terms of new GRAP standards or legislative requirements.
Develop a user manual for guiding the implementation of GRAP standards.
Monitor the General Ledger control account to ensure that acquired assets are accounted for.
Monitor all projects taking place in the Kruger National Park to ensure that assets are accounted for acquired assets, assets that will be disposed and or assets which will be transferred to other locations within Kruger National Park.
Manage the useful life of assets.
Coordinate with various divisions to ensure that all assets are tracked and maintained effectively.
Managing the asset control accounts including WIP and special projects.
Contribute to the compilation of the SANParks annual capital budget, ensuring optimization of capital allocation.
In addition, the role will assist with other corporate accounting functions and special projects.
Assist with the Preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements by preparing the relevant financial statement notes.
Conduct impairment assessments.
Ensure and manage fixed and intangible assets’ readiness for review and audit.
Daily /weekly clearing of the fixed asset clearing account.
Manage and maintain a comprehensive asset register, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal records.
Monitor the recording of donated assets.
Drive the Disposal Committee in the execution of their duties.
Ensure that monthly reconciliations are done timeously, and the review thereof.
Identify anomalies through asset verification and recommend corrective measures.
Manage and ensure that biannual fixed assets verification is conducted.
Perform annual assessment of useful lives on fixed assets.
Issue and control assets barcodes
Updating the fixed assets system with the allocated barcodes.
