Mala Mala Game Reserve is currently looking for an experienced Field Guide / Ranger that will act as the interface between the company and the guests. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following: Most of the Ranger’s responsibilities will be focused on the guest’s safari and in camp experience in the premier big 5 viewing environment in Southern Africa. These responsibilities will however occasionally extend to habitat and maintenance support from time to time. Minimum qualifications and experience: · Matric · Valid First Aid certificate · Rifle competency is essential · Preferably FGASA level 2 (NQF 4), a minimum of FGASA level 1 (NQF level 2) with 3 years of relevant big 5 experience · Viewing Potentially Dangerous Animals (VPDA) · Advanced Rifle Handling · Registered with MTPA · Valid Professional Driving Permit (Pr DP) Competencies: · An empathetic appreciation of the needs of all Mala Mala Game Reserve guests. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Demonstrate attention to detail and be guest-and service-oriented. · Be a proactive, positive team player. · Very good mannerisms and etiquette · Be energetic and enthusiastic. · Strong work ethic, ability to work long and flexible hours. · Physically fit, sober habits and in good health. · Time management skills · Ability to follow instructions. · Demonstrate sound crisis and emergency management.
