We are inviting qualified applicants to apply for an exciting opportunity as an 8-ton truck driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient truck operations and delivering products to customers on time while maintaining a high standard of service and safety
Purpose of the Job: To efficiently operate the company’s trucks ensuring timely and accurate delivery of allocated product loads while maintaining the integrity of the cold chain until the product is delivered to the customer. The role also involves providing proactive and exceptional customer service during deliveries..
Education, experience, and competencies required: Educational Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent. Driver’s License: Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a valid PRDP (Code 14 license is advantageous).
Experience: 1 to 2 years of truck driving experience.
Cold chain experience is advantageous. Good communication and basic numerical skills. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Proactive, cooperative, and customer-service-oriented. Disciplined, punctual, and reliable
Key Performance Areas: Follow daily load plans and schedules closely. Ensure accurate and timely deliveries, liaising with customers as necessary. Obtain and return signed Proof of Delivery (POD) documents. Adhere to green band driving practices for fuel efficiency and vehicle longevity. Keep the vehicle clean and hygienic at all times. Monitor the vehicle’s condition, including the temperature, and report any preventative maintenance needs.
