Qualification and Experience
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in any Medical/Healthcare related field.
Teaching experience healthcare related courses, at least 2years of which are in (Certified) Simulation Based Education.
SCFHS license
Preferred :
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
Experience:
2 years experience for candidates with a Bachelor degree.
Job Purpose:
The Clinical Simulation Educator II will work collaboratively with faculty and staff, simulationists, and other stakeholders to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation-based education and events, learning objectives, case scenarios, program planning, evaluation tools, and different CSSC needs. They will also collaborate with other unit staff, the AP Manager, other CSSC staff, and internal and external stakeholders to achieve consistent conduction of simulation-based education targeting different healthcare curriculums and programs, and simulation-based research, and with the mission, strategic priorities, and objectives of the CSSC and PNU. If needed, may supervise less experienced simulation personnel.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Development of simulation-based learning experiences and programs
Assist with the development and implementation of new simulation-based learning activities.
Assist with program development, refinement, and preparation of reports and related documentation.
Develop high-quality simulation-based learning experiences that meet the educational needs of learners.
Participate in event and scenario planning meetings to provide curriculum and learning objective expertise consistent with capabilities and congruent with simulation standards of practice.
Provides recommendations to the development team regarding the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation activities, course outcomes, and curricular benchmarks.
Coordination, conducting, and delivering simulation-based learning experiences.
Conduct the administration of standardized assessments.
Communicate effectively with learners, educators, and other stakeholders.
Conduct debriefing sessions with learners.
Provide feedback to learners on their performance.
Coordinate and supervise learners to ensure that simulation experiences meet objectives.
Coordinate the organization of simulation-based learning activities.
Ensure appropriate fidelity and realism of simulation events, including moulage, medical supplies, medical equipment, and venues to meet simulation-based learning objectives and simulation needs.
Ensures a clean, safe, and optimal learning environment.
Manage demanding situations calmly and professionally.
Perform the duties for the successful facilitation of assigned simulation experiences.
Provide a professional and initiative-taking service to examiners, academic staff, learners, and other stakeholders.
Support and instruct others on the technical aspects of operating simulators and equipment.
Work with CSSC staff to identify program strengths and needs, including equipment, facilities, and human resources.
Management and maintenance of CSSC equipment and supplies.
Manage and maintain simulation equipment and supplies.
Recommend requesting of medical equipment and supplies.
Plan the medical equipment and supplies needs.
Maintain accreditation and quality assurance.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of CSSC policies and procedures.
Participate in maintaining professional accreditation of CSSC.
Documents all simulation activities and assists in maintaining a record of all educational and training activities.
Participate in the evaluation of the simulation program.
Support the CSSC's short, intermediate, and long-term teaching, research, and operational goals.
Complete assigned work, including preparing, documenting, and tracking learner, faculty, and lab utilization in a timely manner.
Provide directions to other educators during the process of quality assurance.
Participation in professional development activities.
Attend continuous professional development activities, including but not limited to workshops and conferences to learn about new developments and remain current with best-practice standards.
Participate in the development of training content for other simulation educators.
Collaboration with other CSSC staff
Collaborate on ordering and maintaining inventory of simulation labs and theaters’ medical supplies, equipment, and laboratory manuals.
Collaborate with other CSSC divisions to complete assigned tasks and duties.
Representation and advocacy of the use of simulation-based education
Advocate for the use of simulation-based education.
Contribute to national simulation-based education forums and conferences.
Raise awareness of rules and regulations governing simulation-based education.
Teach and instruct faculty, staff, and learners about using simulation in healthcare education.
Conduct facility tours and participate in events providing exposure and insight into the CSSC.
Innovation, scholarly projects, and research activities
Assists with simulation research activities under the direction of the section manager.
Develop collaborative problem-solving and innovation with other CSSC staff.
