Ensure that the assets are all correctly tagged and recorded in correct location.
Prepare forms for additions and disposals of assets
Communicate to the Chief Accountant regarding deletion and addition of assets
Release property to authorized departments and individuals.
Informs employees receiving property of their responsibility and liability for it; issues directives concerning the care and movement of property.
Supervises the making of periodic inventories and inspections of property; investigates discrepancies in inventories and reconciles property records
Determines the condition and recommends proper disposition of property requiring repair, salvage, or disposal; maintain control records for keys; prepares data to justify replacement or additional equipment in the equipment budget.
Develops improvements in property accounting procedures in accordance with departmental directives
Co-ordinate with insurance companies / external surveyors regarding insurance claims and queries related to insurance
Co-ordinate with Chief Accountant on any payments or disbursements of claims/premiums post
Financial Manager approval
Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards
Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices
Ensure compliance with HSE policy
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Relevant experience in any multinational organization or port
Mandatory: 2 - 3 years
Preferable experience in managing claims/ insurance for any national/ multinational organization
Graduate/ bachelor’s degree
Basic computer operating skills
Working exposure to Finance ERP modules and standard accounting packages
Preferable Knowledge of container port terminal operations
