Security Advisor
Basic Function
Assist in all areas on a variety of security services, handling sensitive corporate and community problems. Conduct confidential surveillances and investigations of company operations on projects as well as community- related problems.
Provides staff support for JHAH Departments by performing security surveys and follow-up.
Scope
Geographical areas served will include all JHAH camps and facilities, industrial and residential on a routine basis to deal with fact-finding operations. Provides surveillance, coordination and participation requiring a high degree of tact and diplomacy to protect Company interests. Conducts surveillances of material deliveries and movements valued in millions of dollars. Participates in, or conducts special investigations, reporting critical information and coordinating activities when applicable. Reports administratively to the applicable Operations Manager - Area Security Operations Manager and receives work direction from Senior Security Advisor, Specialist and Consultant. Supervision is minimal due to the nature of the work involved.
Provides staff services to all security, emergency planning and other related activities in JHAH.
Principal Contacts
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL: Contacts are with all levels of JHAH employees and their dependents, and contractor management and JHAH personnel in conducting the duties as outlined below. Has occasional contacts with SA~ officials and visitors in coordination with JHAH Government affairs Reps, to exchange information. Most contacts are sensitive and require tactful interpretation of Company policies and procedures.
Principal Duties
- Conducts general investigations requiring tact and good judgment, records and reports progress of the investigation and other pertinent information.
- Conducts and directs surveillances of selected material and equipment deliveries where misappropriations and unauthorized movement is suspected and prepares reports of necessary facts related to these activities.
- Observes public attitudes and trends which may affect the JHAH security posture and submits written reports for management information.
- Coordinates and assists in handling day-to-day security problems.
- Conducts audits of contract guard force regarding quality and performance, reporting areas of concern and recommending changes or actions necessary.
- Provides planning and programming assistance such as periodic activity reports and budget proposals as required.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties as requested.
Education
Bachelor's Degree preferably in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Police Management or Security Management
Experience
Minimum 5 Years’ experience, preferably in security or investigational work.
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
- Excellent command of the English language and ability to communicate orally and via written reports in a clear, concise manner.
- Must be tactful, resourceful and discreet in dealing with matters of a sensitive and highly confidential nature.
